Another miracle cure for hair loss?

The internet is a much safer place to be now. Security apps are a great deal more effective, computer users have a lot more nous as to how they can keep themselves safe, the search engines have tightened up their act to make it much harder for bad news SEO hacks to promote garbage websites and brand new techniques prevents copyright infringement.

But with all of that, when you read some of the information on the web – put forward as fact – you understand why the internet is still considered the wild west where any claims can be made and naïve or desperate consumers are taken advantage of and duped.

Here on the Skalp™ blog we try to keep up to date with all the scientific advances in hair care and hair loss treatments. We know full well Scalp Micro Pigmentation, as good as it is, will not suit everyone. Everyone is unique and will need a customised approach to their hair loss issues. So we keep a close eye on the web and we are the first to get the word out there if science has made another move forward in the man vs thinning hair department.

But sadly not all the information we read on the net deserves recommending. For instance, only this week we came across a magic home remedy that only needed three ingredients – castor oil, egg yolk and raw honey. These are the ingredients to massage into your scalp as they contain so many useful nutrients! Maybe – but then so do many other raw products and you do not have to keep them on your head for three hours!

Look a little closer at the page and you get a bad surprise. There is a link to a video which allegedly shows you how to massage it into you scalp – only when you click the link you get taken to a very dodgy looking branded hair loss product. Bad stuff.

We are all susceptible. There are always times when we feel desperate – and especially with hair loss we will grasp at any straw in order to make things right. But think twice about those miracle cures. Use these corner stones to help you decide whether they are worth following up on:

  • Are there testimonials from clients who have used the procedure?
  • Can you talk to a consultant about your own unique needs?
  • Do a bit of research into the company on the net.
  • Is their scientific basis to the solution?
  • Do other companies promote the product or service?
  • Try putting “brand name review” into google and see what kind of a response you get

Be careful with the miracle treatments out there. The internet is still the wild west and in these days of e-transactions, it may be difficult to head the baddies off at the pass.

Skalp™ Micro Pigmentation offers a great service for people struggling with hair loss or who just want to join the bald fashion trend and look their very best. Trained practitioners apply pigments to the scalp so it appears as if you have a full head of hair – but cut fashionably short. We are going global fast and have recently opened a clinic in New York US.
