Getting The Best From Your SMP
The most important element of making sure that you get the right Scalp Micro Pigmentation treatment is choosing the right clinic – and by choosing Skalp you’ve already got that right! But there are some other things for you to consider before and after your appointment. If you can arrive fully prepared on the day then you give yourself the chance of the best result. Here are some of our tips for what you should consider doing before and after your treatment.
Within a hair’s breadth of perfect.
From your first conversation with us at the clinic make sure that you have been quite clear about what your expectations are. Think carefully about the look you are going for. Do you see yourself with a David Beckham look or are you more of a Bruce Willis? Look at hairlines you like on line and then print the pics off to take with you to show to the practitioner.
As your treatment will normally be carried over two or three sessions if you change your mind about the style you are going for, let our practitioner know and they should be able to respond to your new idea even if you have already had one session.
Your close shaves before treatment
Chances are that before your SMP you have been going for a similar look by shaving your head. The good news is that after you have had SMP you will never have to shave you head with a razor again. All you will need is an electric trimmer. So that means no more tell tale nicks and cuts, or sting like rashes that look like you’ve been hosting a bee convention. No more time spent twisting your neck for a better view in the bathroom mirror either (your sternocleidomastoids will thank you).
Maintaining your SMP
After you have had your treatment the only thing you will need to apply to your bonce is an electric shaver to buzz the hair down. You need to do that because after the treatment any growing out hair will look too dark next to your SMP. Technically speaking, the seamless application of the SMP will be lost if dense hair is not stopped from growing alongside the areas that have the hair loss.
And with summer just around the corner, it is important that you take care of your new treatment. We all know the risks of exposing our skin to too much sun and most of us will use a sun protection cream when we are on holiday or sunbathing in the summer. And a lot of cosmetics companies now acknowledge this and are now putting SPF ingredients into their products for everyday use.
If you are having scalp micro pigmentation treatment you’ll need to think about protecting your new look and you will have to ensure that you baste your bonce in sunscreen so that you guard against those harmful ultraviolet rays to avoid your treatment fading. You can read our pre treatment and aftercare advice here.
SMP is going to be offering you a great new lease of hair life, and all you need to do is take a few steps to make sure that you get the most out of it.
